Nordberg Medical is at the beginning of an ambitious growth journey and is now seeking a Financial Controller to join the team. Your task and your areas of responsibility

As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for developing and implementing financial policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information. You will be preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets and financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. As a Financial Controller, you will have a key position and support management decision-making by developing financial awareness, controls and understanding across the business and departments.

In the role you will work closely with the group accounting firm to manage period-end and year-end closure ensuring all necessary reconciliations are undertaken and all supporting documentation is available for review, liaising with external auditors as required.

In your role, you will report to the Director of Finance & Operations. The role will be located in our Stockholm office with the opportunity of working flexibly.

Other primary tasks will be:

  • Preparing and maintaining of budgets and plans including cashflow forecasts for all group companies, departments, and projects.

  • Developing relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external.

  • Recruiting and training finance personnel as required, monitoring performance and providing relevant support.

  • Developing strategies and processes to ensure the achievement of departmental and company objectives.

  • Project work as and when required.

Who are you?

To succeed in this role, you have a prestigeless mindset and the ability to work towards tight deadlines and juggling multiple priorities, in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. You are goal-oriented and where others see problems you see opportunities for new solutions and improvement. Since you will be working with several different stakeholders, it is important that you have the ability to work collaboratively with the group accounting firm and non-finance teams such as sales and marketing. For the right person, there will be great opportunities and therefore you have leadership skills and the ability to develop an effective finance department.

When it comes to your experience, you have a university degree in Finance, Business Administration or similar. You have a proven track record of controlling and/or financial accounting, preferably from an international environment, working in or with start-up/scale-up companies. To succeed you have a good understanding of business as well as financial issues. You are an advanced user of Excel, modeling and data manipulation. You are fluent in English, both written and oral.
